Veterans Day - and the Price Paid for Freedom!
john todd.png
Your DAV membership is a great salute to all who, like you and John Todd, served our great nation in uniform.
Dear Robert,
Our nation's brave service members — with you among that distinguished group — paid the price of the freedom we Americans enjoy.
I thank you for your sacrifices, Robert, and I salute you as a fellow veteran.
The injuries and illnesses of the patriots America honors today are countless. But this Veterans Day, I find myself thinking about John Todd, who sacrificed his sight during his service.
DAV recently honored John as Outstanding Disabled Veteran of the Year, but not because of the injuries he sustained when his helicopter was shot down in Vietnam.
John was chosen because of all he does for all of us, his fellow veterans – whether we served long ago in World War II or we just returned home from Afghanistan this morning.
John makes every day Veterans Day, Robert, just like you do through your DAV membership.
He's driven to impact the lives of those who sacrificed to keep America free and our nation's people safe!
During his career in the law, John always made time for fellow veterans, even authoring significant veterans' legislation. And he still makes time for veterans now while teaching law at Rochester College.
As a DAV member, you can take pride in having a guy like John Todd as your partner in DAV service!
Sincerely,
Marc Burgess
