A Coast Guard officer and his wife have college behind them, but they have three youngsters to think about. Their children's college years may be far off, but with VA's education benefits, preparation starts now.
When the couple realized they could transfer unused VA education benefits to their children, they jumped at the chance. Under the Post-9/11 GI Bill transfer option, Servicemembers who don't use their education benefits themselves may be eligible to transfer them to their spouse, children, or both, depending on the policies of their service branch.
