Suicide Prevention: How 1 Person Can Make a Difference

Thoughts of suicide are not necessarily something people explicitly announce to the world, which means loved ones often have no idea that their friend or family member is contemplating it. But there are signs and risk factors, and while you might be thinking you can't make a difference by yourself, you're wrong. Experts say that's sometimes all it takes.

2015 DoD Health Related Behaviors Survey Launches Worldwide

Active Duty Service and Coast Guard members will be randomly selected to represent their Service branch and complete an anonymous Health Related Behaviors Survey (HRBS). The survey, accessed online, takes about 40 minutes to complete.

I'm O-Positive

Clifford Jackson, a civilian working for Washington Headquarters Services, recently stopped by the Pentagon Blood Donor Center to seek information about donating blood for his friend who was in need of a blood transfusion. While the donor center does not accept this type of donation, known as a directed donation, there was another way for Jackson to help.

"I don't know if I am match (for him)," Jackson said. "But I do know that I am O-positive."
